A Boutique Hotel Where History and Modernity Merge with Circ and Compass Lamps

Located in a historic landmark building at the intersection of Via del Corso and Via di Pietra, Hotel Cloud 7 Rome marks the arrival of Kerten Hospitality’s renowned Cloud7 brand in Europe. With a design that balances tradition and modernity, the project was carried out by the architecture studio GLA Firenze, under the direction of architect Ilaria Vannini. Their approach has completely transformed the spatial layout, optimizing the hotel to offer a relaxed luxury experience in the heart of Rome.

Natural materials and earthy tones dominate the hotel’s terrace and Social Hub, where guests can enjoy breakfast, work, or take in art exhibitions. In contrast, the rooms are bathed in soft blues and bright tones, creating a calming atmosphere that offers an escape from the city's hustle and bustle.

Custom Lighting for a Unique Concept

Lighting plays a key role in reinforcing this visual identity. In the rooms, a special version of Estiluz’s Compass wall lamp has been selected, adapted with an on/off switch for enhanced functionality, seamlessly combining aesthetics and practicality at the bedside.

In the bathrooms, the Circ mirror, with its delicate luminous sphere integrated into the circular design, becomes a focal point above the vanity, highlighting the blue tones of the space and creating a truly welcoming ambiance.

In the words of architect Ilaria Vannini: "Two Estiluz light fixtures were chosen for the rooms because we were looking for something that combined functionality and aesthetics. For the headboard, we needed a non-conventional reading light with a minimalist design, but with a color that would blend well with the room’s tones. Meanwhile, in the bathroom, flooded with shades of blue, the soft lines of the circular mirror with a light sphere create a focal point above the washbasin area."
